Quand la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 familiale Fondu \u00e0 Vilvorde a contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement de l&rsquo;industrie m\u00e9tallurgique. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de Vilvorde, qui ne porterait le nom de Mondiale que bien plus tard, s&rsquo;appelait alors <strong><em>\u2018Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 en nom collectif Charles J.B. Fondu et S\u0153urs\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f972a90 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f972a90\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Een nieuwe, grotere fabriek<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-371a81ad elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"371a81ad\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Le <strong>fils a\u00een\u00e9 (et unique) Charles J.B.<\/strong>, en charge de l&rsquo;entreprise \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, ne ch\u00f4mait pas. Il a tout de suite achet\u00e9 un <strong>terrain \u00e0 b\u00e2tir<\/strong> de 65 acres, situ\u00e9 dans la <strong>Koepoortstraat<\/strong> \u00e0 Vilvorde, pr\u00e8s de la ligne ferroviaire. Il y a fait construire une nouvelle <strong>usine plus grande<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Mais malheureusement\u00a0&#8230; quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, sa s\u0153ur Marthe-Madeleine <strong>est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e<\/strong>. La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 contrainte de se <strong>dissoudre<\/strong> et Charles J.B. a rachet\u00e9 les parts de sa s\u0153ur Elisa. D\u00e8s lors, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 est devenue une <strong>entreprise individuelle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-524ced6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"524ced6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">La premi\u00e8re Fondu automobile<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e3869a3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e3869a3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Dans son <strong>\u201cUsine Fondu\u201d<\/strong>, Charles J.B. se montrait comme un digne successeur de son p\u00e8re. Ses principales activit\u00e9s \u00e9taient encore la production de <strong>mat\u00e9riel ferroviaire et la serrurerie<\/strong>. Charles \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s <strong>innovateur et ambitieux<\/strong>. Il a suivi de pr\u00e8s toutes les derni\u00e8res <strong>tendances<\/strong>, notamment celles de <strong>l&rsquo;automobile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>En 1906, la toute premi\u00e8re <strong>Fondu de type \u00ab\u00a0CHF 1\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 commercialis\u00e9e. Il \u00e9tait \u00e9galement <strong>pilote lui-m\u00eame<\/strong> et a surpris le public en roulant \u00e0 <strong>97 km\/h<\/strong> sur le parcours.<\/p>\n<p>En <strong>1908<\/strong>, Charles J.B. a vendu la <strong>licence<\/strong> de fabrication du mod\u00e8le \u00ab\u00a01 CHF\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 une <strong>soci\u00e9t\u00e9 russe<\/strong>. Le chef de d\u00e9partement suisse l&rsquo;a \u00e9galement accompagn\u00e9 \u00e0 Riga. Et en <strong>1911<\/strong>, il a fond\u00e9 une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 anonyme\u00a0: <strong>\u00ab\u00a0S.A. Anciens Etablissements Charles J.B. Fondu\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 peine un an plus tard, en <strong>1912<\/strong>, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tait en grand deuil. <strong>Charles J.B. est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9<\/strong> soudainement \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de 39 ans. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 s&rsquo;est ensuite concentr\u00e9e sur la <strong>production de moteurs de voiture<\/strong> et d&rsquo;autres pi\u00e8ces. Ils ont servi toutes sortes de marques de voitures, principalement en Belgique.<\/p>\n<p>Mais <strong>l&rsquo;industrie automobile belge<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 progressivement <strong>b\u00e2illonn\u00e9e<\/strong> par la concurrence \u00e9trang\u00e8re.
